My name is Jennifer Steier... I have been creating art since I was a youth, but have only recently created a style that I like to use in the past six years since graduating from college in 2001. Pretty much everything inspires me in the world, and tends to enter my pieces, either through subject matter, or through my colors and textures which I borrow directly from the world around me... But though I do dabble in the things of reality, the things of the spirit and all the unrealities of the mind and existence are what primarily show up in my works. Originally I settled on Illustrating for children's books when I was in college, it was a nice way to hone what I can do, but now, five years later, I am moving into a more spiritually drawn frame of mind, which I find far more interesting and closer to my soul. I create solely because I can... it is a conscious choice to bring something forth into a world so easily run by destruction at times... to destroy is lazy and easy, to pour a piece of oneself into a separate entity or creation, is a challenge and a feat that I find exhilarating to accomplish each and every time.
