My name is Mary Scholz – I am a singer/songwriter from Philadelphia, and yes, this is how I make my living. I write music that means something to me, and I hope that it reaches out to you, too. My time is spent running all over the place, playing gigs up and down the east coast, and yes, I run this myspace too. I am a graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, BFA Musical Theatre - so you can also find me doing theatre and film (like Iano Film’s “The Matter With Clark,†showing in the New York Independent Film Festival Now!). Mary is a singer/songwriter whose music is sweeping the nation with its heartfelt melodies and lyrics. Singing since the age of four and writing since about fourteen, her music is a blend of lyric folk and rock with a bittersweet twist that puts her in a category all her own. (But aren't we all in categories of our own?) Growing up singing in church, Mary's voice resonates with a clarity and emotion that engages her audience at the first note. Having recently completed her training with a BFA from the University of the Arts, Mary is spending her time playing gigs up and down the east coast. Mary is also an actress, and can be found doing work on independent films and theatre - look for her!
