Unlocking the potential of the modern R&B era is music’s latest rising star, Rikey P. Raised in Camden, NJ, on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Rikey P developed his voice and unique soulful style by fusing old school soul, R&B, hip-hop, and pop. Over years as a teen performer, Rikey P polished his vocals in church and in the streets.
Humbly Rikey P credits his father as the primary influence and inspiration for his music. He goes on t say that, “My family is very supportive and also musically inclined, they’ve passed down to me, the youngest of five, the desire to create good music and I’m trying to do it big!”
You can find Rikey P performing anywhere there’s a live microphone in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and many of the large stadium concerts and smaller regional promotions where R&B is the flavor. As a seasoned performer, Rikey P has shared the stage with many of R&B elite acts and is inching his way up to headliner.
His current EP entitled “Don’t Stop” is an intro into the world of Rikey P. He teamed up with 2008 two time Grammy nominated songwriter and producer Robert “Speedy” Barham to create a sampling of what you can expect from Rikey P as an artist in the near future. Rikey P describes his style as, “vibrant soul with a smooth, sensual mix.”
A fresh face on the scene, Rikey P is definitely one to watch closely.
