ROOTSTIME production

Rootstime production was put together by reggae guitarist Jahson, from the need to archive the music of musicians and singers coming together. About 1991, Jahson got together with the band "Jah Soldiers." With a small army of reggae musicians, they began backing well established and respected artists starting with Tippa Irie, then... Foundation, Sammy Dread, Sister Nancy, Pinchers, Ras Shiloh, Peter Hunnigale, and Eddie Fitzroy, to name a few...All the while, there were no studio recordings to archive the works. It was about 1998, after a well received California tour with Ras Shiloh, that studio recording presented itself as a way of documenting what was happening live. It was alongside the band "Jah Soldiers" and lengendary Jamaican mixing engineer "Scientist," that Rootstime prod. was established. The project, Jah Soldiers, Musical Weapon vol. 1(2000); featured original singles from Tippa Irie, Anthony B, and Mikey Dread, among others. Playing guitar with the artist "FIJI" and recording guitar tracks on FIJI’s song, "Warrior of Love," off the Island Warriors C.D. (2001), received a Grammy nomination in 2002. Rootstime prod. has written and produced a number of songs for the artist FIJI, and Big Every Time (B.E.T.): Including the Hoku nominated album from Big Every Time; B.E.T. volume 3; and the music for the hit song by FIJI called; "Tequila Sunrise." The most recent project from Rootstime prod. is the all original soundtrack score from the action sports movie, "Monument Nation." Highlighting versatility of style and exploration into different musical genre. This soundtrack features exclusive new singles from top Hawaiian artists like: Humble Soul, Big Every Time(B.E.T.), and The Heartical Crew(T.H.C.) to name a few...
