Born in Thessaloniki, Greece at 1981, Anastasios Papalias had his first influences in music from his father’s classical vinyl collection. He started playing the piano at the age of 6 and after 12 years he graduated in piano, harmony and antistiksis. After reaching the stage he wanted in his music studies, he started attending classes in Sound Engineering and learned the infinite possibilities of sound manipulation and the magic of analog and digital sound.Forming a personal but not always unique music style was hard to achieve. Influences from folk to jazz and classical music all mixed with electronic elements was a difficult and time consuming work.Currently the gear he’s using is an ibook G4, an M-Audio Oxygen8 as a MIDI controller and a MotU Traveller sound card. Favorite software is Logic PRO, NI Kontakt and Ableton Live. There are also many additions in the gear collection with hardware bended vintage or toy synths. After working with many musicians and artists there is still the need for a unique sound and style that can only be achieved through time and experimentation. His currently lineup consists of a female singer called Nema and a female VJ called Diora. He also did some writing in magazines like FREEZE and others. His latest project is a recording studio called “Orange Studio†residing in Thessaloniki. A new song can start with the following thoughts “How would it sound if we combine a djembe playing in 9/8, a flute melody in 4/4 and some jazz drums ?â€
