Band Members: Biography:Saxophonist Yuval Tabachnik was born in Tel-Aviv in 1976. Yuval began his musical education at the age of 6 with three years of playing piano after which he took up the Saxophone. From the age of 9 until he was 18, Yuval was a member of the Tel-Aviv youth orchestra and played concerts ll over the country as well as tours of Europe and the United States. Yuval served in the army between 1994-1997 and shortly after which began studies at the Rimon School for Jazz and contemporary Music and performed with renowned Israeli musicians such as Ilan Mochiach, Mamelo geitonopolos, Amikam Kimelman and many others. Over the following years Yuval expanded his work in the orchestral realm, working with the Israel Philharmonic orchestra, under maestro Bobby McFerrin, the Tel-Aviv academy of music's symphony orchestra and the Jerusalem broadcast symphony orchestra. He performed solo and orchestral works by legendary composers such as Ravel, Gershwin, Juliver, Coplan and many others. in 1999 Yuval joined bassist Arnon Palty's funk band PLUTONIM with performed all over Israel including the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat. That year also saw him perform a saxophone quartet in Tel-Aviv under the direction of world renowned saxophonist/composer David Liebman. It the next years to follow, Yuval was a regular performer at the Red Sea Jazz Festival, performing with Avraam Felder's Big-Band, Eldad Zitrin's Big Band and the Israeli Dixie land band also led by Avraam Felder. From 1997 to 2000 Yuval was a member of the Tel-Aviv Big-Band orchestra which performed all over Israel in festivals, T.V shows and other such events. In 2001 Yuval moved to New-York to persue his education at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music with a full scholarship. During his time at the MSM he joined forces with jazz legends such as Bob Mintzer, Bobby Sanabria, Dick Oats, Gary Dial, David Santchez, Roni Cuber, John Riley and many more, performinf in verious jazz venues arround NYC. in 2003 he was part of the pianist/composer Jason Lindner's acclaimed Big-Band during its residency at NY famed Smalls jazz club. Graduated from MSM in 2005. During his first four years in NYC yuval put together an original Jazz quartet, which includes musicians such as pianist Aaron Goldberg, Drummer Yoni Halevi, Pianist Katya Toobool, Guitarist Yotam Silberstein, Drummer Dan Haran, Bassist Barak Mori, Bassist Rene Hart and many others. Yuval Joined the Israeli funk Band The Apples for the ir 2004 summer tour and subsequently became a full time member. The band tours twice a year in Israel and is considered one of the most popular bands in the filed. In 2005 Yuval recorded with the Apples their second album ATTENTION! which later on was also released in Europe as well as Israel in a l.p vinyl edition. in 2006 Yuval recorded an album, soon to be released, with the young up and coming Israeli soul singer Ayala Ingedasht. In 2007 Yuval toured the UK with the Apples playing cities such as: London, Bath, South Hampton, Bristol, Manchester, Cambridge, New Castle, as well as a tour of Israel.Yuval tours and performs regularly.
