The Koliphones

About Me

The Koliphoes project was born in the summer of 2007, in the boiling heat of the south Tel Aviv neighbourhood where we live. It consists of Mixmonster - Producer and Sound Engineer of The Apples, Israel's biggest funk act, which recently released the massive Killing 7" on Freestyle records, Kutiman- The prized funk producer whose debut album on Melting Pot Records is hitting big waves all around the world this year, and Kalbata- The Prolific Bass Producer whose remixes for Fat Freddy's Drop, Spank Rock and Roll Deep have wobbled nuff dance floors from Tel Aviv to Brixton.Joined by our love to rare psychedelic grooves, dusty 45's and hard hitting bass, we teamed up to create an all analog experimental funk project, recorded on tape, using 100% analog gear, with mostly moog and drums as instruments. We hope you join us in this journey into sound - the sound of The Koliphones!
