born at 20.1.93 in isreal at Belinson Hospitel at the city Petach Tikva shai grow up in Herzelya and Ramat Hsharon ;Shai from early age was love and made a music from the influnces of Uzi Hitman;Eyal Golan and Zohar Argov . Shai in age of 3 got from his perents a Toys of Saxophone;Drums;Guitar and a microphone shai from this toys was made a great music shai perentz said but his serious music start at age of ten when shai start to learn a basic of saxophone on alto saxophone and switched after one year to tenor saxophone .
when shai was 14 years old he start to doubling on tenor & baritone saxophone at herzelya orchestra.
Shai start to play the jazz and the classical music style on baritone in a teenager orchestra and in a teenager group Jazz Bands shai was play on tenor . Shai in age of 14 are taught alone a basic of a piano and start to learn in a group music theory the piano today are help to shai to compose and to understand music stuff. when shai was in age of 15 years he switched the baritone saxophone to soprano . shai said about the Baritone sax:"The Baritone was great instrument in at the 2 years but i think is great only for my gigs my instruments are the Soprano and the Tenor Saxophone" Shai got his Nickname "Berko" at the junior high school by his friends because the reason of the last name Berkovich is a long last name Shai was learned at the best musican like : Kobi Salomon;Peter Whertiemer;Eyal Brand ; David Motai;Alon Farber;Yakov Amar and many others Shai are lead today his trio with Tomer Swartz and Sun Maynich Shai are play on Tenor & Soprano Saxophones and composer and arranger the main instrument of shai is the Tenor Saxophone . shai usally play on tenor and soprano saxophones . The main style of Shai is the Jazz and the Blues but shai sometimes play very diffrent music like Jewish music;Classical Music;Kley Zemer;Arab Music and many other music styles Shai record at age 13 a CD with the Herzelya Orchestra shai play in this CD Classical and Isreali music on tenor and one track on baritone . Shai are left the orchestra and play today in jazz bands on his main instrument the Tenor and the Soprano Saxophones
