About Me

Hey there, I'm Udi Raz. I play tuba and sousaphone, sing and compose Ethnic music, Jazz and Rock. I'm part of Marsh Dondurma , a 15 piece brass band, leader of Makela chorus, and am a quarter of Hapsharot (The Compromises) rock group, playing the bass part on my amplified sousaphone. About the compositions you can hear in the player above: Three Kisses is a song I wrote for Marsh Dondurma, dedicated to Yael.I've co-written Hey Cockroach with my dear friend Tom Dayan a few years ago when we sat down to improvise playing drums and tuba.Migrating Birds, performed by Mahkela Choir, is a song I've written for kindergarten children I was teaching music, after being touched by the beauty of migrating storks above Emak Izrael.Hakela is a song I've written for Mahkela, it has a surprising form and is lots of fun to sing.Kam Ha'eved Betzila is one of the first songs recorded for the upcoming Hapsharot cd. Ofer Seker wrote it, and I love it's dark, sleepy atmosphere and seemingly electronic sound.
