MySpace Layouts Kobi Salomon was born and raised in Israel. He started playing at the age of five and played in various bands and orchestras, winning several awards and scholarships for excellency in music. As an adult, Kobi became a professional musician and played all over Israel, including performances in several significant jazz festivals such as the “Red Sea Jazz Festival” and “Jazz Blues & Videotape Festival”. In 2000 Kobi arrived at New York City. He won a full scholarship and other awards to attend the City College of New York’s Music Department from which he graduated with honors. Kobi has played with various artists including: Slide Hampton, John Patituchi, Joe Lovano, John Hiks and Mike Holober. In New York he performed in many venues, such as the Cornelia St. Café, Kavehaz, Aharon Davis Hall and several jazz bars. Currently Kobi is performing with a number of ensembles, including his own quartet, La Balteuband - an Argentinean-inspired jazz group, and the Salomon-Teubal duo – playing Latin American jazz.
