About Me

MyGen Profile Generator I am not just a movie geek, but a pop culture and media junkie. So I would say that I'm a geek of many shades. As a teenager, I founded Film Threat magazine , which is now a popular web site dedicated to indie movies. I also write books ( The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide, The Complete DVD Book, among others ) make movies ( the cult short Red and recently the feature comedy My Big Fat Independent Movie ) and I occasionally appear on TV ( G4's Attack of the Show ), y'know, just for fun.

Currently I'm writing a new book and prepping my next film project.
At this very moment I'm typing into the "About Me" field on myspace and I think I'm... just... about... done.
No! Wait! If you really want to know more...

My Interests

Seeking new ones...

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded geeks, film freaks, gamers, comic book-aholics, media junkies, and people who dig what I do. Not that I'd want to actually meet. Y'know, right away...

Music:

Movies:

Recently Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- perfect for Valentine's Day! Oh, and Fight Club. Movies have the ability to move us in ways that are totally unique. I believe each person who loves film has a movie that changed their lives. For me, some of those life-altering experiences include romantic films like Amelie, Serendipity, Chasing Amy, indie classics like Memento, Slacker, Pulp Fiction, and genre films like Star Wars, Halloween, Alien, Night of the Living Dead and even guilty pleasures like Tron.

Television:

Stopped watching to have more time to get my shit together...

Books:

I miss having the time to read them...

Heroes:

My grandparents. They were together more than 50 years...
