***I'd like to send out a big thank you to a very talented man Luis Hurtado! The lead animator from Attack of the Show was kind enough to let me use his beautiful artwork at the top of my page. The link to Luis' page is in my top friends list, be sure to stop by and compliment him on his amazing art!!!***
The Summoner by Gail Martin
Usually I just post movie and video game news here on the page but for this book, I'm making an exception. In the past 7 or 8 years the only books I've read are Harry Potter, Dan Brown's stuff, and I Am Legend. With the spare time on my hands this summer I decided it was time to expand my horizons. I went to Barnes & Noble last week and wandered through the sci-fi/fantasy section for 30 minutes and the only book that really screamed out was "The Summoner" by Gail Martin. Here's what it's all about...
The Summoner, Part One of the Chronicles of the Necromancer grabs you by the throat and never lets go. Gail turns the Winter Kingdoms into real places. She depicts each separate kingdom so vividly and so uniquly you have a feel for every corner of the world. Then the characters, the villains Arontala, and Jared, the heroes, Tris, Kiara, Vahanian, just to name a few are so well written I feel like I personally know these characters and love them all. I'm dying to know what happens next and so sad I have to wait until January for the sequel "The Blood King". Please, if you love or like sci-fi/fantasy novels at all, do yourself a huge favor and pick up "The Summoner" and "The Blood King" by Gail Martin at your local bookstore or online immediately!
