Liz Larner is a vibrant young musician who is gaining a reputation as a guitarist who performs with great musicality and panache.
After Studying with Mark Ashford and Simon Dinnigan she graduated with Honours from the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2003 having been awarded the Conservatoire Guitar Prize and the Rollason Music Award. She continued her studies with Mark Ashford as a Postgraduate and was recently awarded a Postgraduate in Music with Commendation.
Liz has performed across the U.K in top venues including the Albert Hall, Bolivar Hall (London), Symphony Hall, Birmingham Cathedral, Adrian Boult Hall, Crescent Theatre, St Martins in the Bull Ring (Birmingham), Walsall New Art Gallery and Weston Park (Shropshire). She is becoming a popular recitalist at music societies and festivals across Europe. Past recitals have taken her to Richmond and Derby guitar societies, to the Winchester Guitar Festival, The International de Guitare De Lalinde and The Rencontres Internationales de Guitare (France). This summer she will be tutoring at the Bath International Guitar Festival (www.igf.org.uk).
Liz performs regulary with guitarist Gordon Dunn and in The Zollisi Duo with flautist Anna Logan. As a concerto soloist she is currently performing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez having recently performed with the Walsall Symphony Orchestra.
Liz is based in Birmingham. She teaches privately and tutors for Edgbaston High School for Girls, King Edwards School for Girls and The University of Warwick.
