I'm a Jazz pianist from Burton-on-Trent, and now living near Manchester.I studied Classical piano in Birmingham for 4 years, and gradually got into Jazz while I was there taking some lessons with Liam Noble and Hans Koller.I went to Brussels in 2003 to do a Masters in Jazz at the Royal Conservatoire where I had 2 great teachers: Diederik Wissels and Nathalie Loriers. Two great musicians!Since I've been here in Manchester, I have been playing with various people on the scene doing various gigs and some festivals.
I play in trio with Gav Barras and Jonas Backman/Eryl Roberts.
I also play in duo with Mike Hall, and in quartet with Mike, Steve Berry, and Eryl Roberts.I play a lot as a "sideman", and have accompanied amongst others, Bobby Wellins, Art Themen, Alan Barnes, Simon Spillett, Tim Garland, Gilad Atzmon, Steve Waterman, Jiggs Whigham, Tina May and Lee Gibson. Last year I won 1st prize in the Nottingham National Jazz Piano Competition.I am still studying when I can, and have recently taken lessons with the great pianists Rob Van Bavel, Ivan Paduart and Baptiste Trotignon.
