Scaphism was formed in April of 2007 as a death metal side-project by me, Evan Woolley (Treachery, Legion of the Dying, etc.). It remained a side-project for a few months until the break up of Legion of the Dying at which time it became my main focus. After multiple attempts at finding like-minded musicians, it was decided to continue as a one-man band. The music is heavily influenced by old school death metal, thrash metal, and brutal death and gore metal. My goal is to make the most crushing, twisted and technical death metal that I can possibly come up with. Scaphism is only a studio project at this point as I have no means to play live shows, but hopefully sometime in the future this will be a possibility. The tracks that are up on this site are the two songs from the Butchered and Devoured Demo (2008). I am slowly acquiring more and more professional recording equipment and an 8-track full-length is currently in the works. The CD should be out sometime in 2008, complete with cover art, lyrics and liner notes, and high-quality packaging. The Butchered and Devoured demo is out now however, and free for anyone who wants one. Contact me if you are interested and want a copy.
