A little too wise, they say, do ne’er live long.
About Me
I was an English Jacobean playwright and poet. I stand with John Fletcher and Ben Jonson as among the most successful and prolific of playwrights who wrote their best plays during the Jacobean period. I stand with Shakespeare as one of the few Renaissance dramatists to achieve equal success in comedy and tragedy. Also a prolific writer of masques and pageants, I remain one of the most noteworthy and characteristic of Jacobean dramatists. I was the son of a bricklayer and wrote such classics as "The Revenger's Tragedy," "The Changeling" (with William Rowley) and "Women Beware Women." I also helped out on "Macbeth," but you don't see that in the history books. I was born in April, 1580 and died of natural causes on July 4, 1627.
