About Me

Myspace Out to Pasture Farm & Rescue Hero for 5/1-5/31 Fox Films Kills HorsesThis month, OTP honors Roland, web master of Fox Films Kills Horses (and his other page, Bite Global Warming) as our hero. Roland was instrumental in helping me build the friend base of OTP when I first put the page up on Myspace. He's also offered me so much great advice and support whenever I've asked him. He's an ongoing gracious and significant supporter of our efforts to keep OTP open and running. We also honor Roland's tireless efforts to save the beautiful horses in America from abuse or worse, and to heal our planet, through his activism and informative, insightful blogs. We wouldn't be where we are today without his help. Visit his site(s), read his blogs and support his wonderful work! Take a virtual visit to Out to Pasture! Click below on "Fox61" to see and hear Carrie, her husband Kevin, and some of the precious OTP babies! Hear Carrie explain why she does the amazing work she does. Fox61Good and gentle people: the purpose of this Myspace page is to raise funds on an ongoing basis for Out to Pasture Farm & Rescue, Inc. an 11 acre animal hospice and sanctuary in rural CT, for animals that cannot be adopted out. Since all of the OTP animals have special needs, expenses run @$5-10 thousand/month (medicine, special food and devices and so on). OTP depends ENTIRELY on donations. So please give what you can when you can. Instructions for donating are below. OTP also will do all we can to support other animal rescue groups! Some Additional Specifics about OTPOut To Pasture Farm & Rescue, Inc. is a family-run 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue/rehabilitation organization that cares for and provides a loving life and home to seriously challenged animals. These animals include those that are seriously ill, physically challenged, abused, elderly, orphaned and so on. OTP is home to nearly 100 dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats and birds, many of whom would have been put to death at birth, or died in shelters or on the streets. But OTP's founder and primary care giver, Carrie Haggart, realized her childhood dream by building her "orphanage" and giving a second chance at life and love to these precious souls. Out to Pasture Farm & Rescue, Inc., then, is a place of happy endings. At OTP, 100% of donations go directly to animal care. Not a penny is spent out of donations for any administrative expenses! Along with a sincere note of thanks, documentation acknowledging receipt of your tax-deductible contribution will be mailed to you immediately. Here's one example of what your donation can make happen: Out to Pasture Farm & Rescue Success Story: What your donations do to save these animals!
MySpace Codes"Hochruncken (Hoch) came to us on August 9th. 2006. He was born with cerebral hypoplasis which compromises his equilibrium. His case is severe and he was unable to be placed. He falls over quite often and has to be constantly cleaned up after but he is one of the sweetest boys that we have. His physical handicaps are overshadowed by his love for life, his loving nature and his very silly personality. Everyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him. We are so glad that he is with us." (from OTP's owner/operator/guardian angel Carrie Haggart). If the quote above is true, then Carrie-and her husband Kevin-are two people who have found great inner peace! If you email OTP here on Myspace, the email will come to me, Jeanne, your humble page editor. My Interests

"My life is my animals and my home and rescue, my little piece of heaven." (Carrie Haggart). ..We KNOW so many animal rescue groups, individuals and animal lovers who do this blessed work can be overwhelmed and underfunded too! It's our goal to build community with people like you who share the common bond of deeply caring for those who cannot help themselves, our animal friends. Let's support each other to help those who have no voice-our animal soul mates. Imagine what we can do working all together! Please know that your donations, friendship, comments and other forms of support lift our spirtis so much, and most of all save the lives of many precious animals!

I'd like to meet:

All people who are in love with, rescue and attempt to rescue, adopt, fight for, protect, defend and are open to the pure love of all the beloved animals on this earth.

Music:

The music of animals expressing their love, needs and even their displeasure-:) The music of animals in the wild...

Movies:

If I Could Talk to the AnimalsFor all the precious ones at OTP, and for any of our friends going through a struggle: A stunning live performance by Sarah McLachlan of "Angel"A tribute to the magnificant wild horses; let's work together to bring back their numbers and let them run free with the joy of their nature. We usually keep our page ubeat, but this story is so disturbing, I made the decision to include the background and petition banner here: Amid controversy, Costa Rica's Visual Arts Biennial (Bienarte) 2007 included a strict and small selection of works; Six artists were rewarded with the pass to represent the country at the "Biennale Centroamericana Honduras 2008". The Bienarte is organized by "The Entrepreneurs for the Arts". One of the winning "artists" was Guillermo Vargas Habacuc. His winning "exhibit'? He took a stray dog from the street, tied it to the gallery wall, and waited as people came to view the dog die a slow, agonizing death from starvation. Some people, (including children) tried to stop this barbaric act of cruelty, but could not. Is this "art"? Or is it murder? There is nothing we can do for this dog but we can try to convince the organizers of this "art" event that this was an act of animal abuse, not "art" and prevent another innocent dog from suffering the same cruel fate. Please click the petition banner and add your voice to the more than half million people who have already registered our outrage.
