About Me

INRI studio is an underground movement/ production house founded by cult director Tzang Merwyn Tong. The Singapore based studio has - to date - produced two award-winning independent films which has since garnered a small but loyal following.
OUR DEBUT FILM - [e'TZAINTES]
[e'TZAINTES] is a teenage black comedy ... made guerilla style, without a confirmed budget, using two cameras and 30 of our friends.
Unable to get any support from distributors, the producers decided in 2003 to take things into their own hands and distribute the film themselves. [e'TZAINTES] premiered independently at GV Grand in Singapore to a full-house paying audience. It went on to win the Bronze Remi Award (Independent Experimental Category) at 2003 Houston WorldFest and was the openning night film of the Berlin Asia-Pacific Film Festival.

THE UNDERGROUND HIT - A WICKED TALE
A WICKED TALE - a dark psycho-erotic thriller based on the Little Red Riding Hood. The film made its World Premiere to critical acclaim at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and was a surprise hit at the Montreal FANTASIA film festival. It tells the story of an adolescent and her sexual awakening, and deals with the theme of seduction and manipulation.
A WICKED TALE was released on DVD in 2006, and was made available for sale in Singapore, United States and Canada, with only word of mouth as publicity. Within months, all 1000 copies of its first limited release were sold out.
