Despite the negative connotation that it is tagged with, apathy is nonetheless a choice. Choices are part of human rights. The active exercising of human rights is a sign of social freedom.
To some of us it is unthinkable for such freedom for choice to be taken away from us. But to others, the very concept of "human rights" is a luxury.
We represent some of the wealthier ones, cos we have this luxury. But we chose to spend it for a global purpose.The House of Anonymous's Mics with a Purpose (MicSWAP) is an online blog that connects its readers to a network of audio-recorded materials (mainly music and poetry recitals) which addresses themes and topics concerning GLOBAL ISSUES. The purpose of MicSWAP is to bring all these audio expressions together under a visible flagship and resonate these recordings as if they are one single waveform, vocalising the minds, heart, soul and fists of millions.
This is not about rebellion or defiance. It is not about making a stand against any establishment of power. It is not meant to be politically angled even. It is about milking our rights to express our thoughts on issues that concerns us in our society.It may not be possible to change the world with this. But if a thought can shift mindsets by a degree, someone will gain a new perception with every 180 submissions.Apathy is a choice. Awareness is an action.
How does MicSWAP work?Have an ORIGINAL song or a poetry recital recorded and hosted at a vast number of audio hosting sites in the internet (we apologise to you for not being able to host your songs up, as we are limited by bandwidth and funds to be able to capitalise on that option for now).
Send the LINK to the song to us, along with some background info of the track including title, lyrics, intellectual property details (ie song credits like lyrics by ___, music by ___ etc etc).
Add one of the selection of MicSWAP banner or a buttons to your blog or website. This last point is important. The purpose of the blog is to create a network. Keeping a chain of links can help to expand that network and reach out to others, who will eventually add on to our voice for awareness and social empowerment.
