Walter Gaeta

A dynamic and original musician capable of expressing pianistic melody, rythymic and authentic. His compositions unite various colours and languages creating unexplored space - continually evolving. His musical research is both unpredictable and courageous.Diploma in Piano from the Music Conservatory of "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara and Degree with honours in Jazz Music from the Music Conservatory of "S. Cecilia" in Rome.Various of his original compositions have been published, including the saxophonist quartet suite "Errando in Portugal" (Roaming in Portugal), a collection of lessons for young pianists called "I Colori del Jazz" (The Colours of Jazz), and in 2002 wrote the arrangements for the Chamber Orchestra "Roma Classica" and the vocal ensemble and soloists "Colosseum" for the New Years Concert at the International Music Campus (Comunal Theatre of Latina) for the concert exhibition "Musica in giardino" (Music in the Garden) (Rome) and the inaugural concert for the Study Theatre of Jesi directed by Maestro C. Rizzari.He has produced numerous arrangements for the duo of Big-Band, from pieces by G. Gershwin, D. Ellington, M. Davis, T. Monk, W. Shorter, A. Piazzolla, E. Morricone, N. Rota and others. In 2004 the arrangement for the Jazz Orchestra piece "L’eroe del Destino" (The Hero of Destiny) by G. Gaslini merited third place at the 17th Competition of Arrangements and Compositions of Barga Jazz 2004. Again at Barga Jazz in 2006 his original composition "Colors" got to the finals.
