Welcome to the small page of our 'tribute' band. We decided with some friends to do some concerts on the music of Wayne Shorter next year. So watch for the upcoming concerts and come over to enjoy the music of Wayne Shorter together with us...!
All the best!BIO's....STEVEN DELANNOYE graduated in 2006 at the Lemmens-Institute in Leuven in the jazz-department, where his teacher was Frank Vaganée. He was also taught by John Ruocco and Ben Sluijs, and he took workshops with Phil Woods, Dave Liebman, Bob Mintzer, Bill Carrothers...
Steven is soprano-, alto- and tenorsaxophone player in his own trio, and his quartet Sammys On The Bowery. As a sideman he worked with the free-jazz trio: Mopti, Peter Hertmans Sextet, Louis Favre Group: a group of the French drummer Favre, MuchoGusto Bigband, Tuesdaynight Orchestra, Free Breathing Ensemble and Phusionculture. He freelances in the young Belgian jazz scene with colleges on different occasions in clubs. He is also teacher in the music schools of Tielt, Eeklo and Knokke. Steven Delannoye plays in his own projects with Steven Cassiers, Frederik Leroux, Nicolas Rombouts, Yannick Peeters and Lionel Beuvens As a sideman he performed with Bart Van Caenegem, Ewout Pierreux, Frederik Tilkin, Bram Raeymakers, Steven Van Loy, Steven Hellemans, Yves Peeters, Louis Favre, Tim De Jonghe, Toon Van Dionant, Robin Verheyen, Chantal Willie, Manolo Cabras, Olivier Wéry, Andrew Claes, Bruno Castellucci, Sal La Rocca, Otti Van Der Werf, Frank Vaganée, Dré Pallemaerts, Philippe Aerts , Ron Van Rossum, Peter Hertmans, Brussels Jazz Orchestra... to name a few.
EWOUT PIERREUX______from a very young age ewout (°halle, march 8 1978) started playing piano and alto saxophone. he got a classical training at the music academies of halle and gooik, where he graduated in 1996. as from that moment he chose for the piano and continued his studies at the jazz department of the lemmensinstituut in leuven, where he was taught by great dutch pianist ron van rossum. he graduated in 2001. during his studies he followed masterclasses of a.o. brad mehldau, bobo stenson, kenny werner, bruce barth and bill carrothers. meanwhile he’s teaching himself at the music academy of sint-agatha-berchem and at the kunsthumaniora (antwerp).
he plays piano in the band of south african singer tutu puoane and in t-unit 7, a new project of saxophonist tom van dyck. he's been the pianist of jazzisfaction (the quartet around german trumpet player peer baierlein) for ages now. he's the regular pianist of a new big band project called 'tuesday night orchestra'. as a leader he has his own trio (ep3) with yannick peeters on bass and steven cassiers on drums.
ewout also plays keys in the rockproject upperlip orchestra and he’s busy as a sideman in several projects, among which ‘goddam: a tribute to dr. nina simone’. he played concerts with the brussels jazz orchestra and the high voltage sextet and with a.o. toots thielemans, frank vaganée, kurt van herck, bart defoort, bert joris, philippe aerts, dré pallemaerts, martijn vink... he played on major festivals such as the blue note festival ghent (joost zweegers sings chet baker, 2005), jazz middelheim (maria schneider big band workshop, 2001), gaume jazzfestival (jazzisfaction, 2004), park jazz kortrijk (tutu puoane quartet, 2004 and jazzisfaction, 2006) and is named as one of the promising belgian young jazz pianists.
GARIF TELZHANOV Born in Almaty, USSR. At the age of seven I began studying classical music playing oboe and cello which I continued to study at the conservatory of Almaty. Before I started studying jazz bass at the Lemmensinstitut in Leuven, I played as a cellist in different groups and orchestras. Since October 2003 I've studied with Philippe Aerts, Jos Machtel, Nick Thys, Pierre Van Dormael, Frank Vaganee, Peter Hertmans, Ron Van Rossum, Dre Pallemaerts and many others... I was lucky to follow workshops with Phill Woods, Erwin Vann and Stephane Galland, Billy Hart, Dave Liebman, Bill Carrothers etc. Now I am playing in several small jazz groups and finishing my studies at the Lemmensinstituut
WIM EGGERMONT graduated in 2006 at the lemmens-institute in the jazz departement. He studied there with Dré Pallemaerts and also took lessons from Stephane Galland and Hans Van Oosterhout. He attended workshops from Billy Hart, Peter Erskin, Bruno Castelluci and Bill Carrothers trio.
As a side-man he currently works with Melanie De Biasio, Sonic Orchestra, Koen Geudens trio,... He is also writing some music for his own project that should be comming soon.
