born and raised in Brussels, Belgium, lived in Amsterdam for a while, in NYC since 1999....and loving it=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=--(back in Brussels and loving it-since january 2007;-) play mainly electric and acoustic bass(jazz,soul and groove stuff)=-= but also guitar,piano,drums,vocals(check out babybabybaby-i play everything on that track, except cello,violin,backing vocals,pedal steel)=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=---=--=- I play music professionally since hmmm...i played with a lot of different people in a lot of different places,featured on about 50 different recordings. from Mal Waldron to zap mama, lee konitz to brazilian girls,bill carrothers to mark turner.... from japan to africa,the concertgebouw in amtserdam to nublu in NYC and blah blah blah........................................................ ............................................................ ....................................... I'm now the proud father of a beautiful little girl named EvaRose,and that's the ultimate high..period.It just brought my music and my spirituality to a whole different level, life(and therefore, music)is more intense.==================================================== ========things that i love================================= my family, my wife, my daughter,God,our planet,food,monty python,steve mc Queen,nice watches, doing sport,hanging out with friends, playing music,walking in the rain,laying in the sun, reasoning with spiritual people(N.B.people who have spirit....funny people),play Bach on my upright bass with the bow my grandma gave long time ago,going new places,Ghandi,bruce Lee,shaolin kung fu,vintage fender basses,good books,see friends feeling better than last year,people smiling in the train,people that give me hope,Borat,courteous people, conan,woody Allen,incense,good movies,nice clothes,hanging out home with my wife and my daughter for 4 day straight in between jobs,seeing people connect regardless of their age,race,colour or religion,being silly,getting a big check,make people laugh,waste my time on myspace,locking it down with a drummer(nothing like it),playing with a great female singer(nothing like that either)..................all right , guess what.... i actually have to get up and do things right now......................................................... ............................................................ .......... drop a line if you feel like it and i'll see you around. my website is www.nicolasthys.com,old and not updated, but there's some info on there,so if you really have more time to waste........ booyakashaah
