The Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU)
CTU was formed in 1993 after the attack on the World Trade Centre's. CTU was formed to combat terrorism. We are a elite branch of the United States of America Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Our HeadQuarters are in Washington DC.
CTU's primary mission is to distrupt and destroy foreign and domestic terror cells hostile to the United States, as well as protect the U.S from terror Attacks. With an office in nearly every major city in the U.S. CTU also has the role in creating security policy and fighting groups of organized crime that fund terrorism.
CTU Offices are run by a director, aslo called the Special Agent in Charge, to whom the Director of Field Operations and the Chief of Staff report. The CTU office reports to divisional offices, Which are overseen be the Divisional Director, Divisional offices cover a larger amount of territory in thier jurisdiction over an entire region of the United States.
General Assesment:Agent Jack Bauer
Thanks to the role at CTU, Jack Bauer has lost his wife, the affection of his daughter, became a heroin addict, and has been forced to kill innocent people. But he cannot do anything else- Jack Bauer is CTU. Even when terrorists aren't trying to kill his loved ones, they will still suffer because the horrors jack witnesses (and sometimes causes!) render him emotionally disconnected. If he responded in a normal way to stress, he'd never get the job done. As a result, his relationship with his family has always been strained, and that was before his wife and daughter were kidnapped by hostiles!
When jack and his wife Teri were seperated, he had an affair with the treacherous Nina Myer's Seen Here
Jack then had to live with the fact that his trust of her led to the deaths of many CTU co-workers as well as poor, innocent Teri. Jack must have thought about giving it all up hundreds of times- but thankfully he hasn't. The times when his bravery and instinct single handedly saved the day are too numerous to mention. He saved President David Palmers life Seen here He then was regarded as a trusted friend. But being friends with jack is risky. Buddies Tony and Michelle were assassinated because they knew about jack's faked death, along with Palmer. After that, Jack went dark for 18 Month.
When Jack cam back, luckily, his girlfriend Audrey eventually forgave him. Audrey is Jack's best shot at happiness since the death of Teri (Despite circumstance almost breaking them up on several occasions). Jack's life if full of tough decisions like there. One time, for instance, he had to chop off partner Chase edmunds' arm to help him escape. It's not easy being close to Jack, but the again, it's not easy being BAUER
