I was born March 16, 1955 on a horse ranch 35 miles outside of Nephi, Utah. My real father was a staff sergeant in the European campaign of World War II; he never made it home. My mother remarried before I was one. Growing up on a horse ranch was interesting for me as I learned responsibility early on tending to the horses. I developed a taste for literature, especially the American classics like Hawthorne, Poe, Fitzgerald, so on and so on. This helped out in high school, as I graduated valedictorian of my class and moved on to Brown University. Prior to college, I never had much of a social life (not that I didn't go to the prom or nothing) but at college, I met a woman named Susan Jefferson. We dated for about three months until she left Brown University to attend medical school in Washington D.C.; I heard she married the Defense Secretary James Heller. After graduating with a Bachelors in English, I moved to Quantico VA and joined the FBI. My first assignment was with the FBI field office in NYC. I was promoted to Special Agent in Charge in about 7 years. Eight months after being promoted, I was offered a job in Seattle in this newly created agency they called the Counter Terrorist Unit. I considered the options (both my mother and my step-father were dead by now) and decided to moved back to the West. I still wasn't married (though I did go to the bars in NYC and meet women; one in particular caught my eye and her name was Karen Hayes).Work didn't pick up over at the Division section of CTU until August 2001, when the nuclear bomb detonated and WWIII almost occured. After obtaining the rank of Senior Agent, I got the opportunity to train a new, yet experienced agent at Division named Michelle Dessler. We attempted a relationship outside of work (but you know what they say "Never mix business with pleasure.") I could tell that something was wrong with her in her attitude, so I did my homework and found out that her husband was released from prison after being charged with treason. Once I figured this out, I backed away from pursuing the romance further. Both Michelle and I transferred to Los Angeles to replace a Division director named Ryan Chappelle. I became a Division representative to CTU during the day when Air Force One was shot down. The next day, Michelle Dessler resigned as acting CTU Director and I assumed control of CTU up to this day. After the arrest of Charles Logan, Karen Hayes from Homeland Security and I began to date again. We are now happily married.

Bill Buchanan
(You are 73% suitable for recruitment by/employment with Los Angeles CTU)
You are decisive and authoritative. You have a good command of ideas, and know what is going on and what you want to achieve. You sometimes find it hard to bring yourself to bend the rules, but usually allow yourself to be persuaded if a convincing case can be made. You are professional and capable. You help keep CTU ticking. You are efficient, professional and decisive. While still a little inexperienced for field operations, leadership is your main forte and you are more than able to think on your feet whatever the situation. You are better behind a desk or in command instead of behind a gun.You still rely (to some extent) on the chain-of-command as your lifeline, but in extreme circumstances you are able to innovate and take great risks for the common good.In the daily running of CTU, you are an indispensable part of the machine.
