Park Lawn's mission is to provide comprehensive services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. The goal is to promote independence, choice and access to mainstream living. We believe that people with disabilities earnestly wish to live a normal life. They want to go to school, hold a job that truly needs to be done, a place to live comfortably, and they want a full and active social life. Within this context Park Lawn provides adult developmental training, vocational services, supported employment, residential opportunities, and recreational activities. All are backed with professional staff support. We have all sorts of events throughout the year to accommodate everyone's interest. The events raise funds for living arrangements, food, educational equipment to help establish better motor skills and much more. Please check out my website at www.parklawn.com to find out more about me and all of my events. If you want to add suggestions about your past events and what Park Lawn may learn from it, please let us know. If you have a story about attending one our events, we love stories. Thanks!Park Lawn is currently finalizing a rebuilding project on a 41 room facility for elderly individuals with developmental disabilities. This broke ground on November 2005 and it became a 3.6 Million dollar campaign. Now that we are in the final phase, we are needing to raise $100,000 by June 2008 in order to meet our challenge grant from the Coleman Foundation. This grant will match one dollar for every two dollars donated. If anyone is interested in donating, please call (708) 425-6867 or email [email protected].
