Good Luck to All Who Compete In Both The Oaks & The Derby
RIVER DOWNS CELEBRATES
80 YEARS OF RACING

I suppose saying "I adore horses of all kinds and watching horses run and betting on them once in awhile" is one of those overtly obvious interests? Well, I do. I love horses, I love the sound of their hooves as they run free in the dirt. Looking into their eyes and seeing a free spirit. If you get that, then no further explanation is needed. If you don't, no explanation is necessary. Cheers!
In 2007 I started handicapping horse races for the first time. I hit the cold trifecta in the Kentucky Derby and picked the winners of both the Preakness and the Belmont. I didn't do too badly in the Breeder's Cup as well. Luck? Maybe, but I do work hard at it.
I tend to post my choices and thoughts and race outcomes in my blogs - take a peek and leave a comment if you feel so inclined!
I study the PP's and I watch races and workouts... While I dislike numbers and math in general, there is something about how it all clicks together in a race. And they're off!
This isn't just a site about River Downs - although I will be posting events that are happening there. It is mostly me, writing about my own experiences as a first time handicapper, long time horse lover and watcher of races, big and small. And I so happen to do most of this at River Downs .
Important Things To Note:
This is not an official River Downs site. That can be found at River Downs.Com
I made this site because:
A: There wasn't one for River Downs
B: I go there most often
C: I needed a place to babble endlessly about what I am doing without driving my non-horse racing friends crazy.
D: I also wanted to put a lot of links in one easy to find spot.
E: I also have a "regular" Myspace Place, which you can find by clicking ♠ Christy's Other Myspace I keep everything non-horse related there.
Cheers!
Sweet C
The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire...
