Oswald and the End of the World

About Me

Butterflies invade my dreams. Butterflies of ash. I've found myself on this strange island, Idlegreen. It should be a Paradise, but somehow, I know it's not. My dad has disappeared and my only friends treat me with disdain. I don't care if it's the end of the world.

A very kind person has been collecting reviews of my book. I'll buy him a shandy should I meet him. Click the link below to see them.

A Man of Few Words

He's been busy recently.  The farmer who owns the land that surrounds my house doesn't work, in the traditional sense: he owns the land, but not the animals that graze upon it.  Consequently...

The Colorado Experiment

It depresses me to think that it took a bunch of republicans to make it work: the Colorado Experiment. Politicians in Colorado looked at the steady rise in anti-social behaviour in their state and dec...

The Sixth Finger

"The Sixth Finger" is an "Outer Limits" episode from around 1963.  It stars David McCallum, as a miner (yes, really) who participates in an experiment to accelerate the evolution of a human ...

Wings of Desire

"Wings of Desire": the angel wants to be human, he wants to touch and taste and feel, and Peter Falk is hanging around to spin his quirky imrpovisations; when the angel is close to becoming human, the...

Bad Science

I was going to post a very long and tedious blog about "Irrationality" a truly great and important book by the late Stuart Sutherland.   However, instead I want everyone to read this Ben Gol...

Outer Limits

When I was very, very small, not much bigger than one of those little chaps in the Babybel advert - and as much as I like that advert, my favourite advert of the last few months is for the VW Polo, th...

Alien

I watched Ridley Scott’s ’Alien’ last night; haven’t seen it for at least ten years.  It stands up pretty well, I think.  But it’s interesting to note where the...
