Food Not Bombs, Las Vegas

We are Build a World we Wish to Live in

About Me

the las vegas chapter of food not bombs....
We get VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN food from that would otherwise be thrown away, cook it up, and feed it to the homeless.
IN THE PAST we would share food, have FREE SPEECH OPEN MICS, and enjoy each others' company AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE at Circle Park (Maryland Pkwy, just South of Charleston).
But in November of 2006 the City of Las Vegas permanently CLOSED CIRCLE PARK to stop people from feeding people!!! We have since engaged in a Federal Court Battle challenging the fascist actions of the city.
In August of 2007 a federal judge has ruled that the ban against feeding the indigents (poor people) has been ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL and we may now help people again in parks.
People like Gail Sacco have continued to feed the homeless regardless of actions by the city and law enforcers. She currently shares food at Baker Park (E. Saint Louis and 10th Street) about 10 am each Sunday.
We are a very small group and we could really use your help!!! Be MORE than just a MYSPACE FRIEND, actually get involved with the DIRECT ACTION!
