Jayne Maya

On first impressions, Jayne Maya is an acoustic folk artist, but she is also a sort of queen of Kundalini; being a mother, a spiritual healer, an artist and even a holistic house cleaner, there is more to this beautiful lady than meets the eye.
Kundalini is Sanskrit for "snake" or "serpent power," so-called because it is believed to lie like a serpent in the root chakra at the base of the spine. In Tantra Yoga kundalini is an aspect of Shakti, the divine female energy and consort of Shiva. So I have used an analogy, to hopefully make you better see that there is a deep and sensitive soul at work here. Her songs have an ability to gently break onto rocks and move away with the tide within, each offering a key to unlock a past secret or present dream. The seduction of her sultry voice rises and falls, often wavering with cries of raw emotion that can seize a room in silence. Jayne is currently studying holistic healing, raising her little boy Marley (a light in her life) and recording her album. She mainly performs around the hills (Dandenong Ranges) where she lives, but soon to play shows in Melbourne. - J.Byron
