About Me

We are on mission. Breast cancer has taken too many strong beautiful amazing women. It has attacked our grandmothers, mothers, and sisters. It has struck fear in the hearts of so many women and the men that love them. We have had enough! We are fighting breast cancer with all we have. We are raising as much money as we possibly can. We are walking the walks. Running the runs. We are putting on concerts and charity auctions! We are giving cancer a Fight to Remember!
On March 31, 2006 Terry Hogan, my mother, Jason's mother in law died. She had been fighting breast cancer for seven years. She fought tirelessly while always doing her damndest to help others.
It was then that we decided that we needed to do something.
We signed up for the Boston Breast Cancer 3 Day. A 60 mile walk to raise money and awareness for breast cancer treatment and research, benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust. We raised over $5000.00. At the end of the walk, we signed up for the 2007 walk.
We decided while $5000 is great, we KNEW we could do more.
We talked to Jackie the owner of Jakes and asked her what she thought about us throwing a benefit concert at her club. She has always been a long time supporter of all of Jay's bands and absolutely believed in the cause. She not only agreed to let us have the benefit in her club, but she offered us 100% of the door as well as 10% of the bar!
We rallied together bands we knew. Kilgore Smudge(their first show in over twelve years), The Brimstone Assembly,The Wrong Reasons, The Paul Brockett Roadshow, and Pete Yorko stepped up to the plate. Then we decided we had so many friends who were so talented outside of music we wanted to give them the opportunity to contribute in some way. First we just planned on throwing a little silent auction table at the show. But then our friends showed up way bigger than we ever could have expected. All of a sudden we were being offered signed merchandise from major label recording artists, apparel from major fashion designers, baseball memorabilia signed by the greats, pieces of art, designer cosmetics, you name it. Way too much stuff for an ity bity table. So in addition to everything else there is an an EBay store up.
No one is making a profit from this. Every penny goes to The Breast Cancer 3 Day. Cost of t-shirts, and all expenses spent to throw this benefit have come out of Jay's and my pocket. We are doing this to make my mom, Mama Terry to Jay, proud.
Needless to say, the event was a huge success! We raised about 9k. We are doing more. You will see a second wave of EBay stuff soon! Some amazing stuff!!!
Exciting News!!!!
The Brimstone Assembly (Jay's Country Project) has released the song "Eulogy" (a song written in Memory of my mom). It is available here for purchase. 100% of that money is also going to the breast cancer 3 day. They are limited release so order yours soon.
The first release by The Brimstone Assembly!!! This is the CD Single for the song "Eulogy" that was written for my Mama Terry. 100% of the proceeds for the sale of this CD will benefit the Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day. Help save lives with Honky Tonk!!
