I grew up in the Church of God In Christ. My father , Pastor Stanley Lockhart, now presides over New Jerusalem C.O.G.I.C that my grandfather, The late Superintendent Titus Lockhart, founded. In that experience as a child, I was blessed to participate in workshops with the adults to train and later sing with gospel greats such as Mattie Moss Clark, Twinkie Clark, James Cleveland, Commissioned, Mississippi Mass Choir, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Walter Hawkins and Tramaine Hawkins. As I grew older, I experienced local Gospel Choirs where I began to receive criticism from Cleveland greats such as Avis Graves, Jerry Thomas and Steve Gulley just to name a few who are true to the traditional gospel. I sang with groups like H.I.S.(His Inspirational Servants) who recorded a few albums and did quite a bit of traveling leading me to even singing with John P. Kee and V.I.P. Choir. In 1993, I went to college to gain a whole new experience. At Baldwin-Wallace College, I double majored in music and Biology, eventually dropping Biology to finish my degree in Arts Management loving classical music and appreciating all the genres. I played violin, also. I then moved to Fairborn, Ohio where I attended Wright State University. During that time, I participated in pageants where I was Miss Wright State University 1995 and runner- up in Miss Black Ohio. In Springfield, Ohio, I met amazing people with amazing talent and gifts like Johnathan Dunn, Daniel Stephens and Lovell Bradford, just to name a few, who I worked with( but I believe they worked with me). JD encouraged me to find myself. Pastor Ron Logan pastors a wonderful church called Greater Grace Temple where I attended at that time and was introduced to my call to worship, “true worship”. In 1999, I went overseas with a gospel tour group covering most of Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Looking forward to returning very soon with my own show! Came home singing with different production companies and wedding bands like Eugene Ross and company, Jerry Bruno Orchestra, Night Breeze, Special Blend, and Mike Petrone (AWESOME!) I also have the opportunity to sing with different pop instrumental or jazz bands such as Forecast , Hubb’s Groove, Eddie Baccus, Keith McKelley and THE GREAT JERMAINE LOCKHART. I got married and divorced. I have two wonderful, smart children who I love more than anything…..ANYTHING! Not having anymore children but I am looking forward to getting married again….to the man God has for me, when he finds me…I was manipulated by an imitation. LOL Now, I have a passion for my music and for the children. I’ve developed a program called Making Music Preparatory School. This program encourages children through music to enhance and develop strong reading, writing comprehension along with self confidence. I love to cook and sample exotic foods. It relaxes me to cook and see friends and family enjoy or critic new flavors. I have a new love outside of food and music that you wouldn’t believe…….MOTORCYCLES!! I WILL have my license by the end of summer and I am pumped. Although some of my family and friends oppose the idea…along with the tattoo (just kidding…maybe…guess you’ll never know), STOP HATING!!!
