......................................................Being a lover of most forms of dance I have searched for a new ballet video... so here you are: WHERE TO FIND QUEEN JAZ..... Good places to start looking are theatres. cinemas etc ... I recently saw 'The Harder they Come' the musical based on Jimmy Cliff's film... Loved it, the show was well performed throughout except for 'Many Rivers to Cross' which started well but went a little astray in the middle to my mind. The guy who played the Jimmy character... Wow.. and as for his butt...dam that should have been licensed to appear on the stage!!!!! hERE is the original Jimmy Cliff whom I saw perform at an open air festival in Croydon last summer. Jimmy is still an outstanding performer who has soooo much energy... yes jimmy we all felt Irie for at least a month afterwards! I love so many different forms of art from stage arts to paintings and architecture. My favourite statue is of a boy balanced on the nose of a dolphin and it is along the London embankment. I just luuuv the symetrical lines the statue projects... a true flow like all artistic forms. Unfortunately I couldn't locate that particular statue but have found a suitable replacement!! This is a girl and dolphin to be found at St Katherine's dock Tower Bridge. I am going to slip in my favourite portrait picture which happens to be of my good friend Faiya who is a rapper here on myspace and loud.com... I think it's brill because it definitely projects the right image for FAIYA... the only true image... HOT HOT HOT!!!Just adding a little extra interest... here we have Addiss who recently sent me this video. I WANT TO GO THERE!!! Eric used to be a reggae musician back in the days and still loves old Bob! No wonder we pick up on the vibe! I guess Austria is a very inspiring place, is the the only European county I have any real idea about having stayed with my sister a few years back! The adorable Ryan Bradley...'Almost Famous' who I met in October 07 when he was just in stage school. Told him immediately that he will be an A star celeb one day... hopefully a top movie star! SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!..YEAH MAN.. YAN JUST ATTENDED HIS FIRST RED CARPET EVENT,,,CONGRATS BABY! Shortly afterwards Ryan auditioned and appeared in his first feature film and I wanted to take his still from that but copyright might apply..Hmmm...Just after finishing the film Ryan was chosen to be in a boy band... soooo all the little gels will soon be screaming Ryry baby I luuuuv you! lol. This is very good for Ryan because in addition to singing and dancing he has been given the opportunity to excersize his lyrical talents..oooh can't wait to hear their first single!Still waiting for the band to decide their name..sent a few suggestions..lol! Here is the line-up... To me Ryan is special... always was ... and he has answered every letter I have ever written to him and that's a record! Girls... Ryan is single ... mainly because he is choosy about his women. I told him recently that if I had a daughter I'd fly her over...'wish you had a daughter Jaz' he said! Q-What does making music do for you personally? Why do you do it? A- It’s liberating, kinda like flying. Everybody has problems in their life; everybody has complications, but with this I get to escape. Not saying that it’s a fantasy world, but if you want it to be, it can. Q-What do you want your fans to get out of your music?Cam- 'A lot of people right now are trying to copy Jay-Z – freestyling without writing it; but what they’re doing is taking away from the artistic side of it. I try to make sure every line grabs your attention. I put a lot of work in mine. I try to keep it classy. I don’t take it for granted; I don’t do it just to do it.' Q-As far as your lyrics, where does your inspiration come from?I used to be a poet before I was a rapper but my style is a little different from most spoken word artists. Q-Where does your production come from?Back in the day when I was like twelve, I had no producers and I got so mad at how bad people were doing beats so I just taught myself how to do it. I started using little programs from the internet and I got good. Q-For people who haven’t heard your music, is there someone you would compare your style to? A- I change it so much but what you hear a lot of from me is flipping my words real fast. I guess you would say it’s like Bone or Twista every now and then. I like to emphasize my words a lot, kinda like Ludacris. LET'S KICK OFF WITH BRITAIN'S GREATEST EXPORT.... LEONA LEWIS... OH HELP!!!! It would appear that as predicted Leona has conquered America... and the world I believe. I remember Leona week after week on the x-factor.... LEEEONA, that was amazing... every week you manage to pull off a perfect performance. Such an amazing voice a young Mariah Carey! Well Mr Cowell, I have Leona on my phone singing Jacko's 'I'll be there', X-factor performance... I actually really like Leona's rendition BUT she definitely sings slightly off-key at one point! I agree that Leona has an amazing voice full of life and strength possessing the ability to soar through the higher realms. but unfortunately she has limited musicality... Leona has come up with a formula and she sticks to it.'Bleeding Heart' sounded the same as every single Leona song that I have ever heard. I don't know about the rest of the 'Spirit' album because I wouldn't be able to sit through it! Leona is 21 now and needs to be encouraged to really feel music so that she can expand her style... I think that Leona sings from her heart but not from her soul. In addition I cannot imagine Leona in concert because she is shy and has her personality on lock... 'Thank you Simon... I simply can't believe I'm that good.' or words to that effect. Miss nicey nicey goodie two shoes needs to visit the incredible Miss Millie Jackson.. or Missy Elliot...lol lol for an injection of life... oh yes Leona needs a kick up the ass to improve her audience rapport!!! I am sure that she has already progressed?!?!? and do wish her well. Did you American's know that we shipped her off to the states to ensure that she got off to a flying start... everybody said... 'Don't screw things up for leona Simon, make sure you get it right! Kid glove treatment for Britain's greatest starlett! AND NOW ON TO MY FAVOURITE... THAT RUGGED ROCKER AND SEX GOD LENNY KRAVITZ... who is currently enjoying a level of success with his new album and tour 'Love Revolution.' I recently blogged this because I think 'Love Revolution' sounds so retro that had it not been for a free CD I'd have missed it. 'Love Revolution' conjours up images of spliff smoking hippies and free love.. oh well! At the very least it should have been called 'Lenny's New Love Revolution' but the album does contain some really good songs including 'Open a New Door' a strong simple message to those of us experience upset, confusion and frustration in our lives... what, you too?... an end of the road track and I luuuv you for that Lenny. I still love the old favourites and got to thinking about 'American Woman'... This song should have had really sexy lyrics because the way he sings it is.. simply sexy!! ooooh Leeeenny those little sounds you make...lol.
Films...ok... I recently saw
Awake ... yes I know we get our films late compared to the states but who's worried! 'Awake' is not the most inspirational title in fact it would be in my bottom 3 with 'Snakes on the Plane'... duh how abismal... and 'Millions' which proved to be the most dire fim ever and the stolen money didn't even amount to 1 mil!!! Crazy crazy baby.*** Anyway 'Awake' was coming from a new angle that of patient (character Hayden Christensen) awake yet under anasthesia whilst undergoing a heart op (anesthetic awareness phenomenon a rare but real condition!)..hmmm... who then hears the team discussing how they are about to kill him!! happens everyday folks! lol. The fact that the shock of having your heart cut out would be enough to kill anybody is neither here nor there. What I will say is that there were a couple of lovely mildly erotic scenes and some nice unexpected little twists in the story. The plot basically unravelled at a steady pace until the end when the producer suddenly decided to wrap it up quick! The thing that I found most ridiculous... and without which there would be no story... was the fact that an obscenely rich man would allow anyone other than the best surgeon around to do his op! All- in all I enjoyed it... enough to present it here anyway!
Well folks... I've become a little bored with CSI MIAMI these days and changed my allegiance to NCIS whose characters are a little more fun. This is Abbey the Goth from the lab Played by Pauley Perrette. I love her in her white coat with studded choker on... oh yes, 1st choice for a fancy dress party! Just need a whip and I'm done..lol********** Reality TV ... We are part way into the latest season of the Apprentice here in the UK... so we watch Sir Alan Sugar, originally from the east end of London. Sir Alan made his way to the top through hard work and great business ideas/sense. Woe and betide any of the young apprentices who lose him money...'get out of here NOW get your things and go back to the house... I don't want to see any more of you today. Next week you're going to be team leader.'... Margaret (his faithful aid) I can't stand listening to anymore of her excuses... Very direct is Sir Alan. 'I don't want to hear that you will put in 100% effort next time coz you screwed up didn't you and I have to say it **** You're FIRED'.. Come on Sir Alan ... what do you have to say to the one and only Queen Jaz?!?!? Here is a little comedy clip my kid was watching on you tube... Yes I have a wicked sense of humour! I'm not big on reading and have actually gone my entire life without reading any Shakespeare... no I didn't skip school so it's a mystery!********************* I recently completed Ben Elton's 'Chart Throb'... only took 3 months! The point is I completed it which means it was to a reasonable standard otherwise I would have cast it aside. Ben Elton is a very clever writer and 'Chart Throb' is based on ' The X-Factor' our version of American Idol. The start and end of the book are really good but it drags a bit in the middle. Chart Throb is basically a satyrical (Spelling???) look at these chart shows providing a winning formula that relies on everything except the contestants ability to sing! We have the usual puppetry... Ms nice and Mr Nasty... colourful or cringing characters... hope for a new future.. oh yes we can all relate to it. I think however that Ben's crime writing is to a higher standard... take 'Dead Famous' for example which i couldn't put down! Ben is a brilliant man by all counts. And what has happened to my copy of Chart Throb?'... it winged its way overseas! ****************** WHEN IT COMES TO READING ... I would like to give a mention to FLEXWRITERS CAFE.http://www.myspace.com/flexwriterscafeThis is a great place to go if you enjoy short reads or fancy undertaking writing challenges. F/W is full of pictures and poetry set to musical accompaniment. It is an exciting place to find mental/creative stimulation and is run by a small team of people who posts work by many different writers.If you seek a million comments on your blogs then post them here! And no... I've only sent 1 poem so far which I am assured will be posted sometime!
Lenny Kravitz is the main man because there is something about Lenny that has influenced me and ignited the centre of creativity within me. It is a craziness that works. Before myspace I did not understand vibes but I now know that it is important not to underestimate them. Somehow Lenny's vibes reach me through his pictures, music and lyrics and have infiltrated deeply altering my thinking. I even bought a Bible after listening to 'Open a New Door'... 'yes minister Lenny'!!!! After all... this is Queen Jaz folks... 80% crazy yet 100% sane... why? because sane recognizes crazy but crazy doesn't recognize itself!!! The person I most admire is Carlos Acosta- Cuban ballet dancer who has danced out of the gutter and onto the world stage. He is an inspiration to young boys, especially young black boys coz he's the first black principal dancer with the Royal Ballet and for the ignorant amongst you- HE IS NOT GAY! I have met Carlos a couple of times and he is a very warm and sincere person. Even after giving his all during a harrowing performance Carlos greets his fans and signs autographs very happily. Last time when I was waiting to speak with him he shot past me and I had to run and call out to him... Carlos is sooo sweet he stopped and waited for me to catch him up! One other thing about Carlos... he sure knows how to give a good hug!
