About Me

Ryan Wirtz is a young R&B singer/songwriter/performer with a voice that is truly one of a kind. At the age of six it became clear to his family and friends that music was more than just a hobby but a gift that would forever become a part of his life. As a child he sang in various choirs as a featured soloist and found himself traveling the country performing in such places as San Francisco, CA. and Walt Disney World, FL. It was at that time when Ryan realized singing is what truly made him happy and he's been pursuing his dream ever since.
In early 2005 Ryan was introduced to Charles Glenn, world renowned bass guitarist for Little Richard. Charles believed in Ryan's talent and began mentoring him as they began recording original music together. In the process Ryan grew a deep love for songwriting and has continued to write and arrange several songs in his catalog, including the power ballad "Thank You."
Shortly after, Ryan was accepted at the Performing Arts school 'Hollywood Pop Academy' (currently School of Pop) and studied with Grammy nominated songwriter Alex Cantrall (Toni Braxton, JoJo) and currently studies with multi-platinum producer Ron Harris (Christina Aguilera) and one of the countries top vocal coaches Billy Purnell.
With these incredible experiences under his belt, Ryan was about to embark on the biggest break of his young career. In 2006 he auditioned to sing on "Showtime At The Apollo" and was chosen among thousands of hopefuls to fly to New York City and perform on the legendary stage. He performed "Ordinary People" by John Legend and received rave reviews from the audience and fans alike. His performance was featured on Apollo's annual 'Best Of' episode which aired multiple times and can still be seen on YouTube as one of the Apollo's most viewed performances of the season. Immediately after his performance aired the responses were not only positive but never-ending. As a result many opportunities were presented to Ryan including "Ancient Christmas Melodies," a Christmas album sung in both French & Romanian, which is now available on I-tunes & CD Baby. Shortly after that project was completed Ryan began working with Drew Lane, producer behind the success of Disney's "High School Musical" & "Hannah Montana" soundtracks. They began collaborating together on what Ryan describes as a Pop/Soul record. Ryan co-wrote a majority of the songs which are now available for purchase via myspace.
With his eclectic taste in music Ryan has a wide variety of musical influences ranging from Michael Jackson & Marvin Gaye to John Mayer & Nikka Costa. Although his rich baritone voice has often been compared to the late Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross Ryan is excited to showcase his own unique style with the world. In a day and age where great singers are few and far between, Ryan Wirtz is destined to be the voice of a new generation.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
