Ryan Wirtz is a young singer/songwriter with a voice that is truly one of a kind. He began singing at the age of six and it became clear to those around him that music was more than just a hobby but a gift that would forever become a part of his life. As a child he sang in various choirs as a featured soloist and found himself traveling the country performing in such places as San Francisco and Walt Disney World.
At the age of 17, Ryan was accepted at the Hollywood Pop Academy and studied with Alex Cantrall, an accomplished songwriter who has written hit songs for Toni Braxton & JoJo. From there Ryan was introduced to Charles Glenn, the bass guitarist for Little Richard, and began writing and recording original music. In the process Ryan grew a deep love for songwriting and hasn't stopped since .
With this experience under his belt Ryan auditioned to sing on "Showtime At The Apollo" in 2006 and was chosen among thousands of hopefuls to fly to New York City and perform on the legendary stage. He delivered a heartfelt performance of "Ordinary People" and received rave reviews from the audience and fans alike. His performance was featured on their annual 'Best Of' episode which aired multiple times throughout the season.
Ryan's unique baritone voice has drawn many comparisons to a young Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross but he is determinded to create his own sound and style as he did on "Ancient Christmas Melodies," a Christmas CD sung in both French and Romanian (now available on ITUNES) Ryan Wirtz is an undiscovered voice that will soon grab the music industries full attention. He has gained quite a buzz throughout the industry as the next big rising star. Stay tuned.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
