Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, sisters Carmela and Josie Cirrito began singing together at ages: 12 and 8. Carmela Aka (C.C), has been a professional singer since she was six years old. Her father, JOE discovered that she had an amazing musical talent.Joe got her to auditions in New York City. she performed in talent competitions for many years after that. In 1992, at the age of seven, she appeared in the HBO production of "MACS ACTS", and in 1994 her voice was featured in the jingle for a Pepsi commercial. Carmela's voice also appeared in the soundtrack for the Broadway production of "The Nutcracker". Along with winning countless awards for her singing ability, she has continued to per sew music. C.C started taking piano lessons at the age of seven and became a drummer at the age of ten. She then began to play the Bass guitar in 1997 when she was twelve, Then, at the age of 12, she took on the bass guitar, and took acoustic and electric guitar lessons for three years prior to forming a band and has been playing acoustic and electric guitar for about 3 and a half years before joining the band. C.C and Josie left their hometown of Brooklyn and relocated down to West Palm Beach, Florida. Moving to Florida inspired the girls to take action into looking for band mates to form there one and only dream, Unstitched. After moving to Florida C.C and Josie, started searching for other talented, young, motivated, musicians in the hope of per suing their one and only dream, a musical group entitled "UNSTITCHED". In the summer of 2003, Josephine (Josie) Cirrito, after teaching herself how to play the guitar, decided to form Unstitched.Josie has won multiple awards for best poet in high school.She has also followed her sister's footsteps by being one of the best singers at her school. Josie's first song was written at the age of 12. Punk Rock music in general influenced her life even before her teenage years.It goes to show that her attitude fits the criteria. With the help of manager/producer, Ilya Tatarov (Deadstar Assembly, Reactions), Unsitched's debut show took place at a legendary, local music festival, Gummy Bear Fest, that took place in Club Ovation on March 26, 2005. The show was a massive success, and had an overwhelming response from South Florida's unwelcoming audience. Even local media caught wind of the performance,and the girls were doing interviews and signing autographs by the end of that same evening. From there on, the name was on everyone's lips and flyer's were in every club, music store, skate park, etc. Mixing various types of rock, Unstitched brings out it's best in vocal harmonies, honest lyrical skills, and "in your face " drums and guitars. With a mysterious message hidden behind the lyrics, the girls hope to reach out to all types of crowds, and offer them some real world advice in love and religion. Along with the staff at Fluff Records, and the assistance of Ilya, Unstitched has started reproduction on their debut album, to be released at the end of this year. Label shopping will start this summer, and the release will be national, be it on a major label. There is a bright future ahead of these young talent's and every day, their musical skills and knowledge grows dramatically.Unstitched's music is a mix of rock styles combined with the beautiful vocal harmonies of C.C and Josie.
