HeyMike! is a spontaneous and adaptive band of musicians, all best friends, that you'll be pleased to hear from, or latch onto, rather! Besides having a notably buff guitarist named Ben Harper (the 'white' Ben Harper, formerly in the band Yellowcard), each of its Southern Californian members LIVE for the noble cause/art of genius songwriting, and strive to develop unique sonic platforms using any format you can name (or shake a stick at.) Being the hard-working forcefield of sound that HeyMike is, and having a history of 8 years of trusty progress behind it's belt, the band has dawned upon a bright new era of continuing its musical climb straight to the top. Documenting it via strong/well-thought-out studio recordings & routinely touring the U.S. seems to have gotten their feet in some serious doors. They cant help but to enjoy existing as a budding/modern part of an already so rocking world scene of amazing music. For the guys in HM!, the 'life' of music and music-making is a full-time gig (and represents time well-spent). Their songs; modest, yet explosive, and melodically inclined, are conveyed using the inclusion and the influence of every genre of music.. After a few line-up changes during the forming / early days (in 1998), tons of home recordings / local performances, and getting through those standard, yet rewarding struggles any sucessful group is deemed to face, HM! has now settled into a beautifully permanent line-up of 5 members, all of whom play irreplacably key roles.. ( Steven Neufeld / Juice Cabrera / TJ Arriaga / Ben Harper / Phil Garrison ).. And while Long Beach, California is now the guys' home, HM!'s toured the U.S.'s every corner 12 times since 2000.. They've paid their dues winning over the 5 people sitting in the bar on a Monday night in Nowheres-ville, Idaho.. They've rocked 6,000+ people arena shows playing with many rad artists (including: Yellowcard, The Starting Line, The Matches, Over It, Craig's Brother, Inspection 12, No Use For A Name, Phantom Planet, Single File, Cruiserweight, Kris Roe / the Ataris, etc.) In the year 2004, they recorded a 5-song E.P. called 'Embrace Your Hooks' (in Hollywood, CA) and then in 2005, they tracked their first self-titled full-length record (there as well), which has sold thousands of copies across North America.. (-both albums were produced by MIKE GREEN: Paramore, Yellowcard, Over It, Black Maria, The Matches, Rufio, etc).. {Both albums are in stores and available thanks to the band's beloved label, TAKEOVER RECORDS, which also operates out of a Long Beach headquarters.} It is no secret that 2008 promises to be the year that will surely summon these rockers' destiny to soaring heights, more-so than ever before.. With a foundation laid, new material always flowing, rad shows booked, and nothing to stop the inevitable, HeyMike will surely pop out of your headphones or stereo and come to your doorstep!!
