UPSIDE DOWN review of Pacific Title EP (Translatiated)
"It's far more than an EP, less than an album, that although it is electric music, hidden within it regally, is rock which is capable of fluid contortions. There are field recordings, underlined by strand of sythesis with a dash of Christian Fennesz in Chlorine. Fronted by John Sampson, the not very well known keyboard player who accompanied Amusement Parks on Fire on their tour last year and who was involved in the mixing of their album Out Of The Angeles. Subconsciously the combination of this group from Nottingham is automatic, especially on pieces like Crescents, riding a wave of anomaly that unleashes that unstoppable rhythm. The same goes for the finale, Albatross CC in which all the elements of Swimming join together to penetrate and inject the spirit of young blood, a wonderful example of psychedelic and resounding rock. They are competely certain of what they want to say and how to create songs that mirror back to us our plastic lives of today, giving every sound a touch of banality that, each time you listen to it, highlights the gulf between them and mainstream music, which has been "minced" (ie. overused to the point of meaningless). This is music that makes you think, it is beautiful, really . . ."
