The first video, "Wormwood Stitch" is a short ,rapid music video with a new song composed by my musical project "The Lower Third"... With the song "Wormwood Stitch" ,the content uses my artwork as the main subject matter ,shot at a quickened pace ,fast cuts with the main focus on the artwork...
This is the first in a series of music videos expressing the mood with the art flow and music combination... They work together with each side ,the audio and the visuals ,complimenting each other to form a seamless and interesting whole...

Excellent work.
The rapid cuts and the music work seamlessly with one another.
Looking forward to your next one.
The second music video featuring the new ,dark & haunting song "Withered Lace" ,continues with the same subject matter.. This video ,however focuses more on the detail of the art.. It has gone through several edits and changes..this is the final edited version.

Better than the first one ! Your artwork is so detailed ,I can see why you had to show it in this way ,cause otherwise the details would be a blur. The song is incredible, I could watch and listen to this for hours ! Can't wait to see more of these gems !
A few of my paintings and drawings with closeups to enhance the detail...

This is the self-titled CD cover of my music project
"The Lower Third"(also drawn by myself)..
I've been interested in creating music since my youth..in high school,3 friends and I formed a band which played hard rock/punk rock cover tunes as well as several of our own compositions..my instrument was lead guitar which I continue to play today..for this, my first CD, I have composed music using a Gibson SG guitar, Edirol keyboard with the help of an assortment of various music software programs and Sony's Sound Forge for cleaning up the sound.."The Lower Third" is my first CD which was released on January 2nd of 2006..music reviewers haven't quite agreed on any one specific genre as it has a wide array of styles combining dark electo with ambient-ethereal, new wave, experimental and a few dance beats...
The CD is available for sale at my soundclick site...www.soundclick.com/thelowerthird...There are 17 songs which are on the site for listening, 6 of which are free downloads..
I have a site on Myspace as well...www.myspace.com/thelowerthird...where there are 4 songs to listen to, 1 which is a free download..Follow the link to The Lower Third in my friends section and please have a listen, download "Psychosychosis", it's free...

"The disc exudes promise as much as anything else...Crane is obviously talented at creating luxurious tapestries of sound and I look forward to hearing how his talent unfolds in the months and years ahead".

The solo musical project of visual artist James Crane, The Lower Third blends dark electro with ethereal, new wave, experimental and progressive tendencies. What's found here is a blend of retro and modern, from 70's-esque ambient analog synth pieces (the opening "Back from Black", almost recalling Bowie's "Crystal Japan")to the rhythmic new wave/electro dirges (the shuffling, ever-evolving rhythms and brooding synths of the six-and-a-half-minute standout "Forward and So"). Mainly electronic, yet often sounding warm and organic rather than cold and mechanical, The Lower Third's self-titled debut is both interesting and relatively unique.
As a whole, The Lower Third's self-titled debut is a rhythmically interesting and ultimately compelling collection of dark, intricate electro-ethereal soundscapes...
