Band Members:RAFAEL BUSTAMANTE SARRIA is the primary singer and songwriter of the People. Rafa is Colombian-Nicaraguan and was born in San Francisco. He has been singing and rapping since his youth. At 16, Rafael taught himself how to play piano, guitar, harmonica, and percussion and formed his first band "Elixir" later that same year. forming the People in December of 2000. Rafael hopes to tour the world playing music and helping to spread a message of Positivity, Universal Cultural Unity, Justice, and Rastafari.MARVIN LAZARO has devoted his life to engaging in the study of music through various means such as formal education, networking and raw observation."The depth of the human soul is infinite. It encompasses the physical, non-physical, all points in between and all points beyond, spanning in all directions literally and figuratively on many different levels and dimensions. To manifest that in the form of wavelengths at different variables and rhythms upon this physical plane, which some may call music, and reach out to other souls of an infinite nature is my goal."
- LazaroDIANA GEORGE. She is an MC, percussionist, and songwriter for the People. She enthralls the audience with her explosive energy and charisma. Coining (and living by) the phrase, "the vibe that you give is the vibe that you get," Diana has devoted time and love to her music career in hopes of touring the world and increasing the number of people on the dance floor. The Horn Section is made up of MARIO SILVA(trumpet) MIGUELVIS REYES(trombone) and ASHLEY DUVAL(trumpet)MARIA MORRELL is a powerful and enigmatic singer/songwriter who adds her own unique passion, flavour and soul to The People sound. She has a special connection with many genres of music and she always strives to incorporate those influences in her performances and songwriting projects. She has collaborated with a variety of artists in the Bay Area, using her skills in R&B, Classic Soul, Folk, Country Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Latin, and Funk. When Maria isn't singing with The People, she's busy keeping her chops up as a lead singer in a top 40's band -"Rock My Soul." Who know's? You just might find her singing some of her original songs and favorite top 40's songs at a random gathering somewhere in the Bay Area! Keep your ears and hearts open.JUAN CARREON is the newest addition to The People. Juan is also a Bay Area
native but studied at the conservatory of music in Maimi. Juan is a Brilliant
versatile drummer, he is well versed in all variety of beats from Salsa, to funk to guaguanco to Reggae from Cumbia to Descarga from rock to mambo

Ras style and raw performing style to enliving the crowds.Then there is GOWER,Better known as MATT.E.G.IN.DA.PLACE.2.BE, he sits in on precussion jams and if he is high enough, might even drop a flow here or there. Mostly he is a 5th wheel, taggin along and milking the cash machine that is THE PEOPLE !
