Well, besides our favorite Guitar Wolf song, Fujiyama Attack! is a television show and internet site dedicated to all the things we love about Japanese Culture. It’s my favorite time of year to be in Austin,TX. Spring is almost here and that means South by Southwest is just around the corner. South by Southwest is a huge Music, Film and Interactive Festival held every March in Austin, Texas. Some of the best Japanese bands and films are showcased every year. This year is turning out great already, bands like The Emeralds, Peelander-Z, Ex-girl even Dir en grey is rumored to be there. To make it even better, SXSW Asia is hoping to tap into Texans love of roots music by showcasing a night of Shamisen musicians for Japan Night’s 10th Anniversary. A Shamisen is a traditional Japanese instrument akin to a guitar/banjo. It should be a great night. Look for our coverage of SXSW 2006 next month March 10th – 19th.
