Burning the candle at three ends!

About Me

I really need to redo this whole "bio" thing.
Hoooookay, it's 7/1/08.
I'm a married,
polyamorous,
gemini,
tattooed,
pierced
gamer geeky,
gothic,
hippie
summerchilde.
My strongest social identities are as Wife,
Girlfriend, Student, and Teacher.
I wear my life on my sleeve; I have nothing to hide.
Even my father knows everything about me,
every last piercing, tattoo,
and unconventional relationship endeavor,
and he still thinks I'm nifty.
For that, he's awesome! ;D (I love you, Dad!)
I have a fantastic husband
(who has a new girlfriend! Congrats to both of you!)
a committed, loving Boyfriend of +1 Awesomeness
a simply ferocious, clumsy, 15-pound, squeaky little man-cat named Azrael,
and a spirit that longs to satisfy endless curiosities about life.
I used to model some, but I'm getting out of that.
I thought it best, as I'm working toward being a college professor someday.
Oh yea, I'm in grad school for my Masters in Sociology.
I want to be a tenured professor someday. Wheee!
I live for festivals, conventions and renaissance faires.
My favorite local haunts (in order of occurrence during the year):
North Texas Irish Festival
Texas American Indian Showcase
Scarborough Renaissance Festival
Main St Festival
A-Kon
Texas Scottish Festival
Anime Fest
Wizard World
Bedford Blues Festival
Texas Renaissance Festival
(I'm working TRF this year; come find me at Goblin King!)
My tastes in music are largely relaxed and laid back.
I find I prefer music with a tempo something near a human heartbeat.
Downtempo electronica, mellow jazz, and some ambient are my faves.
I also like experimental electronica like Depth Charge and Juno Reactor.
I also dig the darker, danceable, more sultry, "goth" music.
(Never ask a Goth if they're Goth. They'll most certainly say no. **grin**)
Ah... That's all I got for now.
Want to know more? Log in. Talk to me.
I'll answer almost any question as long as it's asked respectfully.
Welcome.
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4
Special thanks to NOAO for the amazing moon image.

Movies:

Out-there psycho thrillers or unheard-of foreign flicks and B movies. I really like old martial arts films in general, especially Shaw Brothers productions, and I adore bad British Kung Fu dubs from the 70's and 80's. I dig anime and I'm slowly acquiring a geekish education in Asian animation.

Heroes:

Stephen Hawking is a bloody genius. No words can describe what he is or what amazing things he's done for theoretical physics.

My grandmother was a Depression child with one pair of shoes to her name and two brothers to share meager meals with. She worked her happy little derriere through nursing school and school of anesthesia, and became among the first female CRNAs in the US. She stayed at the same hospital for a career of 33 years, retired as head of her department, and is living quite comfortably, I might add. She tought me everything I know. No, really. She's an amazing woman and a wonderful cook, and I hope to be like her someday.
