"Guitar driven songs with off-the-wall vox, fused with Japanese music, Soul, Techno and Jazz"
-- Lior Shamir, Managing Director, We Are Listening
"Kazki moved to Austin, Texas from Oguni, Yamagata, Japan. As a guitarist with unique and diverse sounds, it was difficult to find competent and passionate Japanese musicians as those found in America's music scene. Upon visiting Austin he experieced true, live, American Rock n' Roll and Blues. The city made him want to form his own band with American musicians.
It was after he moved to Austin that he started writing his original songs as well as learning English so he could write lyrics in the language. In spite of searching, he could not find a singer, who could sing all of his songs in the blended styles of Rock, Soul, Jazz, and World music. He started writing original lyrics and started to sing his own music. It was then that he started playing bass, drums, and started composing whole songs.
The album, 'Clear Plastic Case' is his first full-length album and is his second album. It was his first time to have freedom with producing the whole album (except the tracks 1 and 10 produced by Dean Dichoso) in a studio, where he played bass as well as guitar, which allowed him to express the details of the compositions and the "feel" of the songs for the first time.
He met his bassist, Jemmie Hill, from Los Angeles, CA. Then, his drummer, Ed Ziehm, from Florida joined them. In August 2006 Kazki's new band, 'Kazki & The Electric Children' was formed and that is the line up for his shows."
