Born in 1980, i just about remember the Live Aid Concert in 1985 where Queen arguably stole the show.
Like many we looked to experience and discover something new and for me it was the underground electronic music scene. From acid house in the late 80's into old skool, jungle, D&B with techno, house & trance running parallel.
In 1995 I was into drum & base, as we know it today or jungle back in the day. The music just did it for me. It was like an escape. There was attitude, rebellion, peace, love and all the rest of it. Some of my first nights out were at local D&B events and the unforgettable Helterskelter. This was my idea of raving!
In 1999 things started to change. A new millennium was upon us and house music was as big as ever. My circle of friends had changed and it was time to go clubbing! I will never forget the night we went to Pulse Nightclub in Birmingham. It opened my eyes. With similar sorts of people going mad for hard house and the loved up vibe remaining strong. It was on this night that I became fascinated by the DJ's and decided to purchase a pair of decks and a mixer. My first records were still D&B although I started to build up my house collection gradually.
By the age of 21 I realized that there was alot more than just one or two genres and started appreciating all types of music from around the world.
I still love electronic music to this day and having a good knowledge of the genre inspires me to start producing my own tunes although my love for DJ-ing has never changed.
I've played some of the bars in my local area, new years eve nights and numerous parties, birthdays, wedding receptions, etc as well as hosting weekly radio shows on www.time2danceradio.co.uk, www.thepulseradio.com & www.fullhouseradio.com
