We are a rock band from Salt Lake City, Utah and we want to know YOU!
Formed in the Spring of 2007 by a series of events too connected to be considered coincidence, they sold their belongings, packed up their gear, and migrated from the suburbs of Salt Lake City to the San Francisco Bay Area to share their brand of Pop/Rock music with the West Coast.
Just three months after their formation, Mury recorded their debut EP - The Tarot Card Prophecy; which showcases their ability to combine thoughtful lyrics, infectious melodies, and catchy hooks. They are one of those rare bands whose artistic integrity is not compromised by mainstream appeal, yet The Tarot Card Prophecy would fit right in with any music collection. The music comes straight from the heart.
With an average age of 23, the four members of Mury have over 20 years of professional musical experience combined. Vocalist and guitarist Chris Alder served as the group's catalyst, bringing together drummer Burt Hoagland, bassist Jay Glauser, and guitarist Jonathan Olivares to form Mury. Members have shared the stage with such acts as Fall Out Boy, Death Cab For Cutie, Yellowcard, and The Ataris, and have also appeared on several dates of the Vans Warped Tour.
What flows through them is the heart and soul of 4 individuals playing music not because they want to, but because they HAVE to. Mury has sacrificed everything for the simple hope of sharing what means the most to them with anyone willing to listen.
