About Me

im a classically trained oboe and cor anglais player who graduated from trinity college of music in june 2006 with intensive classical training and a keen interest in anything experimental, electronic, beautiful and bangin used in instrumental performance. throughout and since my studies i've been fortunate enough to be part of a great many projects and to play with amazing groups.
i perform with and am one of two press officers for london breakbeat orchestra. this is an amazing orchestra consisting of 45 talented musicians who play live orchestral drum n bass, breaks and grime. seriously good stuff! we recently played a live session for annie nightingale on radio 1. have a listen on londonbreakbeatorchestra.com
i play for biggi and the bigital orchestra... lovely electro pop, clicky lushness! i've done some recording with the band (consisting of exceptionally wonderful people) and we had the pleasure of visiting iceland twice last year, playing at the lungA and airwaves festivals, accompanied by bomb the bass himself, tim simenon, on electronics.
i toured and did some live radio and tv recording with the divine comedy back in 2005... was a real honour and met some diamonds!
i performed on the premier of gabriel prokofiev's 'concerto for turntables and orchestra'. dj yoda was the turntable soloist... unbelievable skills that man has...
i played as an extra at the royal opera house in a triple bill ballet in november 2006... wow!! waiting for another call..... hmmm....
ive been to india twice to play with the bombay chamber orchestra and to teach the oboists and other woodwind players there... an incredibly inspiring place as anyone who's been there will tell you... i look forward to getting back again asap.
and i run a live classical electronics night called electrickery (myspace soon to come!) with composer dan potter. we stage anything that's live, experimental, instrumental, electronic, weird and beautiful... if you've got something, we wanna hear it!................................
electrickery showcases artists working with new and experimental music, staging contemporary acts which reflect the multitude of positions any type of contemporary music can take in the vast cultural and creative hub that is london.electrickery brings new performance strategies to the environment. the unique fusion of classical performance with electronics and dance genres opening new soundscapes, producing an organic experience.composers, performers and other forms of multimedia come together to create something new and experimental to present to the audience.
