Hey...

About Me

It's all about the music... The first sounds that made a profound impact on me came from Jimi Hendrix. I was twelve years old when a school bud played me the Star Spangled Banner from the Woodstock album. It put me on my path. I started playing bass in '81 shortly before I turned fifteen. It was all about rock and metal at the start. Geezer Butler and Steve Harris were my earliest influences as a player. Paranoid was the first song that I ever learned. (It came full circle when I got to play it with Ozzy, Zakk, and Randy in the summer of '90). For the first couple of years I played in local cover bands that mixed originals into the set. Tartarus and Armageddon were two of them. I ended up in California in '88 and stayed out there about a year and a half studying at BIT and playing in bands. I couldn't stand the weather in LA so I came back to NY and have been here ever since. I spent most of the 90's playing in original bands on the NY/NJ circuit, as well as doing a few van tours up and down the east coast and into Canada. Some of the bands and artists that I played with in this period were Native Tongue, Brood NYC, Valerie Vision, Venus for Breakfast, Hope Harris, Gary Dourdan and New Congregation, Deceiver, Ya Mutha, Six, Clayton Cages, Redemption, and Rik Ekstrom. I also played in the local Ozzy tribute No More Tears for a spell during this time. I returned to school in '97 and finished a BS in music at the College of Staten Island, CUNY. I am currently finishing an MA in music at the City College of New York, CUNY. I have also been teaching as an adjunct in the music department at the College of SI since 2003. I play and write with local songwriter and singer/guitarist Rob Carey and drummer Frank Cavallo - aka Beatz McGee. This music will be posted here as soon as it is ready. Occasionally, I play in small jazz group settings... nothing crazy, just standards and bebop. (Like bebop isn't crazy?!!!). I also kick some rock, hard rock, and metal covers around with friends from the early days, booking gigs every now and then with it. I'll be posting past and current stuff on this page for anyone's listening pleasures.Well... I hope you enjoy my small space in this great big world of music. Much peace and love, Dominick

Band Members: Ya Mutha - Chris Carter (gt/voc), Dominick Tancredi (bass), Mark McConnell (dr) These tunes were recorded in NYC at Countdown Studios (thanks to Charlie Gambetta) and mixed at Electric Ladyland Studios (thanks to Mary Campbell) in 1993.
