About Me
my name is mark and i promote a band in nyc called FLATBLACK. it is a 2 pc consisting of CHRIS CARTER on all guitars and lead vocals, and JASON GAMBRELL, on drums and backing vocals. if you had to give our music a "style", well chris comes from metal roots here in nyc, and jason's roots are punk, which originated down in sth carolina...so it's a combo of both, with a pissed off vibe, but a groove to it, if that makes any sense...chris was the founder of another band called YAMUTHA, which turned out to, again, have him on guitars and lead vocals, and featured the incredible thumping of dominick tancredi on bass and backing vocals, and the infamous mark "bambam" mcconnell (aka:malaki) on the skins...check out both their profiles in my friends list...one badass band...but alas the band had a parting of ways and split up. chris perservered, and out of the wreckage FLATBLACK was born!!! me, i run an air freight comp out of jfk airport at night (my "regular" job), and promote these buds of mine as my "irregular" job...i definately love my irregular job more!! my sweetheart is my girl debbie...even though she doesn't have "the ring", she is without a doubt my one and only, my better half!! chris calls her his sharon osbourne, because she helps sell tix to the FLATBLACK shows...she's not as much of a metalhead as myself, but she enjoys going to shows, and gets into the scene...that's my girl!!! thx for taking the time to check out my page, and keep your ears peeled for upcoming FLATBLACK shows in the near future...peace and rock on!! check out the song "NO PROBLEM" by YaMUTHA that i lifted from dominick's page...bad assssss!!!!
