Michelle is an openly transgendered artist who has been going through transition. Over the past 20 years, she has been writing parody songs and actually performing them. One advantage of being transgendered is that she can play both female parts ("Michi-chan") and the male-ish parts ("Srap All Around") in her music. This is very evident in "Hey Scrappers!". Michelle does what some could call "inside parody" or otherwise, songs that are parody songs but make references to specific things that you must be an "insider" to it in order to understand and appreciate the song. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, Michelle ran a telephone entertainment line called California Comments, later to be called CalCom then REC407, REC805 and REC602. Many of the early songs are inside humor from the telephone entertainment days. In the 2000’s, Michelle discovers the W0KIE Satellite Radio Network and a whole new motivation for making parody songs, mainly about the various show hosts and their bad habits. In addition, she also did pre-produced bits (called "motivations") for the shows. Today, while she still listens to W0KIE, she is also really into roller derby. We hope you enjoy the music!
