My CURRENT FAVORITES, their CDs riding with me in my Cadillac, are - The Crystal Method - Amon Tobin - John Daniel Winters - Chemical Bros - and of course, all 4 volumes of Myspace Favorites (see my blog). FYI, John is also my son, no wonder I like his music. I've been searching through countless myspace sites looking for others in this same league. Most mainstream pop/hop/rock/metal is passe, cliched, burned out. The new wave is techno, electronica and jazz with virtuoso guitar, horns and other melodic instruments mixed in. There are also a few visionary pop, rock, reggae and hiphop artists who dabble in electronica to good effect. They are part of the wave too, but mostly its instrumental music, with vocals used more for the sounds they make and feelings they evoke than the words they convey. This new kind of music has global appeal, neatly crossing all boundaries. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PLAYING NOW is “Pendulum Fantasie†by John Daniel Winters, a gifted acoustic guitar player from North Carolina.
