Barney Johnston moved from the great state of Texas to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. He has been playing bass for recording artists such as: Rebecca Lynn Howard, Erika Jo, Trent Willmon, Whitney Duncan, Ashley Gearing, Michael English,David Phelps (from the Gaither Vocal Band),Woody Bradshaw,and Rebecca Frederick. He has done showcases for up and coming artists such as: Jay Speight, Keith Smith, Dede Day,EzraJane,Candy Coburn,Mayberry Down Under, and Jamie Fox.
